How to cure EXTREME congestion?

    The neti pot, and steam are your best options. The nasal sprays are only really good for allergic sinus reactions. In the case of infection, which I'm assuming you have or else the doctor wouldn't have put you on antibiotics, decongestants reduce the blood flow to the mucous membranes and therefore reduce the exposure of the bacteria to the antibiotic. Sinus infections are notoriously hard to treat anyway and if the antibiotic seems to be working, as evidenced by it getting better, then patience is a good thing. I understand you would like it to be gone like yesterday but that's not going to happen. Just stay the course and you will be fine. Good luck.
