I work at McDonalds, why do people insist telling you they want a double cheesburger off the dollar menu?

1. They don't work behind the counter, so they are not at all familiar with your cash register, and how the order is rung up. 2. They are probably trying to make it easier for you by mentioning the dollar menu. 3. What's wrong with saying double meat cheeseburger? 4. Sounds to me like you are not always a people person. It all boils down to giving people a break for not knowing everything you do. Have a nice day.

Perhaps they don't know how simple the cash register is--or they are used to going through the drive through where the orders get mixed up on a regular basis.

If you get annoyed over such simple things then maybe you should get a new job.

so that there would be no confusion as to what you want. i don't know how many times the server said "oh, i thought you meant the regular cheeseburger."

I have a question for YOU! Why is it that when I order something plain everyone behind the counter, and a few customers, have a brain freeze. =P Nah McDonalds isn't as bad about that as Wendy's at least the one down the street anyway, anytime you order something plain you can pretty much count on going back through the drive through a second time.

ok I am thinking from the other side of the thing. You think the cutomers ask too directly but what about the fact that most of the time the orders are fixed wrong and if going through the drive through that means TO GO but it is like prying it from the people at the windows cold dead hand to get the salt or ketchup from them. This does not make us the cutomer feel that you will get things right unless we spell it out for you!!

they assume your menu is larger than it is, and do not know there is such a thing as a double cheesburger on the menu that is not on the dollar menu. MAKE MINE NO ONIONS!

because people who are ordering aren't that smart

you guys have a dollars menu?? in australia we don't and thats bad.
