What does "Ticket only" mean for a ticket on a train?

Train is on 12Nov 2011 at 00.35 hrs mean midnight. So when the ticket should b taken for Tatkal .On which date?

    If you have mention the train number it would have been better to explain you. Please rembember Tatkal booking start for a train from origin station date of journey. If the train reach your place after midnight 00.35 then choose previous station of that train from the train start before mid night as your From stn to get booked your tatkal ticket and after doing booking from that station go to Any PRS and change your boarding station from your town. But if you give your town as From station then you will not able to book tatkal. So choose the previous halt station of that particular train as your From station and book the ticket. Please note the date should be previous day only. Here is one example Suppose a train come to your town at 00.35 on 13th Nov and that train halt at XYZ station at 23.50 (privious halt of that train) then choose date of Journey as 12the Nov and book the ticket and then take a print of eticket and go to any PRS Counter nearby with your original ID to change your boarding stn ( your town). This is the only way you can book tatkal ticket.

As u know 2 day before only tatkal can be booked. So let me clear u now this 2 day's will count from the stating date of train either ur journer may be in between days. So if ur train will start at 11th u hv to go 9th for tatkal and if train is starting on 10th from the first station then u hv to go 8th for tatkal reservation. :-) Happy n Safe journey :-)

As your date of journey is 12nd November, you have to take TATKAL ticket on 10th November 8 am onwards.

u must ask/talk to someone at the reservation 'Enquiry' counter... to clear up the confusion. They know things better & probably must have faced such situations before also. So dont be shy to talk to them.... They r always there to help u (it wud only take a minute to talk to them).
