How fast can you go by riding a shopping cart in front of a railroad track and have the next train push you?

Well, you can certainly plan that the parts of you that are smeared onto the locomotive WILL be going as fast as the train goes. However, the parts of you that have been torn off and left on the ground, sprayed into the bushes, or squished into the gravel between the railroad ties, will not be moving at all. Unfortunately, you will only have about 1/10th of a second to enjoy the ride, because after that you will be dead.

Won't work. If you put the cart on the tracks waiting for the first train to come along, they'll be sending you to the morgue in a sandwich baggie. The impact will kill you. The only other option is to find a slow moving train and push it onto the tracks. Problem with this is the train engineer will see you, stop the train, call the police and have you arrested. Most countries have pretty severe penalties for interfering with train tracks, which is what you would be doing. Try public transit. _ EX: in NY it's a class D felony to interfere with trains.
