Can a women become a Train Conductor?

Yes you can. There is no such restriction.

If you're in the U.K. most certainly yes. There are many female train conductors. You need to be literate, physically fit and have the correct temperament to deal calmly with difficult passengers. Vacancies are scarce at present and it is mainly a job done by people aged 25+

Sure they can. If you're interested Alaska Railroad has a summer program (the main tourist season) for area high school, and college students to work on the railroad in many different positions like Conductor, and Brakeman.

i knew years ago girls were getting into the hobby and the industry. didnt really bother me. i also didnt think females would migrate to such a job. even saw a females picture taken on a Conrail locomotive once, but that was more of a publicity stunt than anything for one of the trade mags. then two years ago im at one of my favorite railfanning spots. the day is good, theres some action to be photographed, and theres also alot of foreign power in the yard. specifically an old UP SD45. dont get those around here much. matter of fact the only thing that stood out was the fact the person who just came out of the yard office and climbing up onto that loco was a female. i was like wow, 20 years after the advent of females in railroading i get to see my first real female engineer. that picture came true. so im thinking im going to get some really unique pics today. so im snapping along when the rest of the crew shows up (2 more). all females!!! woah! when this happen??? im used to a bunch of old crotchety sailor talking ruffians and heres this! a female in every position on the crew. so to answer your question in a long drawn out way, yes, you can. matter of fact it looks as if you can be in any position you can earn in the operations department. good luck and be safe! now im not sure this is a good thing, especially for railfans. having females around would definately make it harder to focus on watching the trains!
