My mom is looking at buying a really nice 2009 fully loaded Suzuki grand vitara. Do they make good vehicles?

Its really nice and only has 3000 miles on it. Still smells brand new. But what I want to know is, do they make good reliable vehicles? thanks

Answer:
the grand Vitara is a great little SUV, be sure to get the 4x4 version it is a very good snow/winter vehicle and capable on mild off road trails and back country dirt roads, its also a good beach cruiser. we owned an old 89 chevy tracker(suzuki) and loved driving it. hope this helps

Yes! I have an 05 Forenza with 70,000 miles on it. It runs perfectly and I don't have any issues with it- no rattles, no stuff that was made cheaply and broke, no plastic fading, no gradual decline in performance. The warranty is GREAT too- Suzuki is really wonderful when it comes to fixing any issues. They're happy to hold up their end of the bargain. When I needed a new head gasket at 50,000 miles, they took care of it for free and did it cheerfully. If you ask me, happy employees are a big sign that the company is doing something right. I would advise checking out the service center at your local dealership - see how the cars that are coming in look, and ask the techs if they know of any problems with the Grand Vitara. Chances are, if your mom chooses this car, she'll be safe and happy 100,000 miles from now.

i have a 2001 suzuki xl-7 its the larger version of the grand vitara. i bought it used in 2004 and ever since then had nothing but a great car! never had any problems with it mechanically. it has taken me everywhere without ever breaking down. i must say it is the best car my family has ever owned. the newer suzuki models should be nothing but good luck too. i say go for it!

I think Suzuki vehicles are very solid, reliable and very good value for the money. The Grand Vitara is a good choice. best to avoid recent XL7's since that is actually a GM vehicle made in Canada. The XL7 most likely will go away with the reorganization of GM. the basis for my opinion is that i "collect" suzuki motorcycles owning 89 Katana, 97 GSXR750, 98 TL1000R and a DL1000 V Strom. they are all great bikes. I also own an 02 XL7 which is the original stretched Grand Vitara - made in Japan. my daughter also owns 02 XL7. We also each have 2003 Aerio SX's. No problem w/ any of them. Oh - my daughter's husband also has two Suz motorcycles. An SV650 and a V Strom 1000.

The vitara has been a good vehicle for many years now. Suzuki has had some trouble with reliability in the past, but they are getting good reviews these days. It really depends on the car, year, trim, engine etc etc. All kinds of variables can have an effect on the car. You might have more success with a grand vitara made last year than with one made this year. But overall and put more simply, Suzuki isn't a bad brand, and she would most likely not be making a mistake to get that car. That's my opinion from research and experience, but you might want to visit this link to learn a little bit more: http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/overview.aspx?year=2009&make=Suzuki&model=Grand%20Vitara Hope this helps you!
