    Hi, These Saab's can be problematic, it all comes down to GM ownership, they ruined what was potentially a fantastic car by putting cheap GM parts in the cars, the electronics were the worst from 2001 onwards, my 9-5 was always in the garage, i once went to pick it up to be told they couldn't resolve the issues and the car had been sent to Vauxhall (British Opel) for repair. If you do buy one make sure the service history is full with no missing services, the diesels are fairly robust but the Turbo petrol's and blow them selves apart if not serviced on time, looked after will cover 1/2 million miles!

"i" stands for "information". it basically is an icon that is just there to show you that there is information being displayed on the SID (big computer screen on top of dash) such as a passenger without a seat-belt on or any other message that might pop up. (there are many). i am a 16 year old and bought my 2003 saab 9-3 linear a little less than a year ago. there are many minor problems that pop up and can cause frustrations (mostly electrical) but overall i'm glad i got it. just make sure you REALLY keep up with your reasearch on this car.. or else it will come back to get you. also.. that is a lot of milage for a high price... mine (10 months ago) had 91k on it and i bought it for $6000 flat. thats a high price.. kelly blue book values this car at a little less than six grand now.. i'd do some pricing reaserch if i were you.
