How to run longer in the winter?

How does a porsche run in the winter?

  • I have this class project in buisness and I'm intrested in how a porsche would run in a cold winter. Mind shedding some light on it for me? Emma <3

    I have had 2 porsches. a 2005 carrera S, and more recently a 2007 911 twin turbo. LOVED the cars, they are a little pricey to maintain. I ran my 07 all winter long and never had an issue. But if you are worried about snow look for one with the badge (4) which will imply that it is an all wheel drive. If garaged they work just as well as any other car. Beware ones with turbos- they are at greater risk for issues post 50k miles. And you don't want to work on them..I tried but having the motor in the very back of the car made it ridiculous to try to work on. Overall I would recommend one, Its one of the most fun and practical cars for the snow.

Well Emma, the Porsche is a good car even in the cold . But the best cars can still have a problem with gas line freeze. Just add a bottle of DRY GAS to the fuel tank. Or a similar product. Most Porsche's now have a heater in them ( long ago they were not standard and could not keep you warm in the winter, so the Germans came up with a heater and a way to also keep the air going to the carburetor warm. That helped the car start and run much better than before. Make sense?

Well if it's the Carrera 4 or the 911 Turbo models, they come with a pretty good AWD system and from what I have read on forums, they do pretty well. Other RWD models will not to as well but do have an advantage over other RWD cars. the ENgine being over the rear wheels puts weight on them so it helps with traction. It will also depend on what kind of tires are used during the winter conditions too. Obviously winter or all season tires will do better than summer tires.
