    this is kind of a waste of time and money. The Porsche 914 is nothing more than a VW "pancake" engine from a Type IV and it simply does not have the durability to handle much HP, and especially not turbos. It'll just blow up. What you should do is try to replicate the Porsche 914/6---the 6 cylinder version of your car that had a "real" Porsche 2.0L engine in it. you could even install a larger Porsche engine. This requires some modification however, but I've seen it done many times. One problem is that your 911 motor is dry sump, so you'll need to install an external oil tank. Under no circumstances would I try to bore and turbo a Type IV Volkswagen engine. All you'll do is build a hand grenade with a loose pin in it.

For the mechanical knowledge you need, this is the wrong forum to get it. You need to be over at www.rennlist.com asking these kinds of technical questions. Also, you would do better to do a Chevy V8 conversion into your 914. You can Google that.

You can only bore the cylinders out approximately .060 inch (about 1.5 mm). Any more than this and the cylinders become too weak. This would not be enough to make any significant difference. You can get much more gains by installing a stroker crankshaft along with the matching connecting rods. Provided there is a stroker kit for this engine.
