How many 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT special editions were made?

  • I just bought a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT special edition. The guy I bought it from said that only a few of them were made, I want to know how few. Anyone have the answers?

    They weren't made they were an option that was offered, it was an add on package that had a spoiler and some heat dissipating vents in the hood, not sure of the other bits. It was available on the GT and the GTP both.

To expound on Trouble's answer, the Special Edition had the roof rails that 99% of GP owners lust for. It also had a two tone interior with a few badges on the doors. The gauges had a white face. It had unique rims and a quad-tip exhaust. That's about it. As the other one said, not few enough to make it rare. Maybe once the GP is a classic, there will have been enough that have died off to make it a rarity, assuming it's in great shape at the time. In years, it will probably carry a premium, but for now, it just looks pretty good.
