2000 Pontiac Bonneville Reserve Tank Size?

  • I know the manual says 18.5 gallons, but the other day I managed to pump 19.078 gallons. Soo I was wondering, what is the size of the reserve tank on a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville Se?

    aint none ...you just filled the neck ( filler tube ).............youre only talking about a little more than 1/2 gallon....................you shouldnt run it down to nothing anyway,.....bad for fuel pump

Reserve tanks are on motorcycles and airplanes. There were some cars that had them but that was back before my time. If you are in the habit of running your tank dry, let me just say that it is not a good idea. Running your fuel pump dry and your fuel system dry only causes problems. A dry pump will fail sooner than it should. Injectors that have run dry have a tendency to build deposits on them faster. Get a fuel additive and put it in your tank on the next 3 fill ups and don't run out of gas again.

Above are correct, there is no such thing as a reserve tank on any vehicle especially after 1995. you filling it up past the 18.5 is just filling up the filler neck like above said
