  There is nothing wrong with Switzerland. It is a beautiful country with a high standard of living. It has fabulous public amenities and is very safe. But perhaps a little boring. I think many Swiss yearn for something more exciting than the rigorously reliable country they come from - not that they would change it here. And Switzerland is expensive. The prices in other places seem so much more affordable. To buy a house in Switzerland is going to cost you at least a million dollars on the whole. In Tanzania you could probably buy a town for that! Swiss people seem to love the sun. The weather is not bad in Switzerland, but not as nice as further south, and certainly not as nice as Perth. Everywhere in Switzerland there are solariums, despite the health risks. Swiss people like a nice tan and dream of living somewhere it comes naturally. Despite the allure of their own country, Swiss like to holiday somewhere exotic and many of them bring back exotic brides and husbands. However, on balance, I think most Swiss prefer Switzerland. You only meet the ones abroad who are in holiday mode or escape mode. Switzerland is full of people from all around the world who want to live here - either because of well-paid jobs, safety or political freedom.
