Becoming a legal resident in Spain.?

Can someone please explain to me how this works? i live in the U.S. and i speak spanish.

Your country, the US of A has made it very difficult for your foreign friends whose families built your country, (British, Germans, Spanish and so on) to come to your country even on vacation. We are deeply hurt by this. Sooooooooo, you will find that Europe does not make it easy for you to come here. Enjoy the hours waiting in line at all the various government offices here in Spain. You have only yourselves to blame. p.s. Why do you punish us for the security lapses that resulted in 9/11.

If you are from another EU country it would be easy. Once you are in Spain for more than 182 days a year you are technically a resident. Coming from America is a different ball game, very much the same as a Spaniard trying to get to America.
