Traveling to rota, spain?

I am planning a trip to Rota, Spain. What is the name of the airport that would be best to fly into?

The nearest Airport is Jerez de La Frontera (40 minutes by car to Rota). The next best is Sevilla which is about an hour and a half away by car. I would advise against landing in Gibraltar for political reasons and the hassle of the border crossing into Spain. Also the airport is subject to closure because of strong winds in bad weather. Cadiz has no airport but Jerez is in the Province of Cadiz. You really should have a great time as long as you get off the base and explore.

WHY are you planning a trip to ROTA? You realize there's virtually nothing there except a US Navy base, right? Yeah...Cádiz is the closest city, unless you have the right to fly miliatry. Not sure if they have an airstrip there.
