How do i find the pop-up blocker on my computer?

Answer:
Popup blockers, such as the Yahoo and Google toolbars and IE's built-in blocker, will only stop web based popup advertising. They can help somewhat but will do nothing to stop popups on a computer that is badly infected with trojan downloaders that are "phoning home" and contacting other computers to download and deliver the pop up ads. I believe that your computer is badly infected. Try a full cleaning and dis-infection routine, if you are getting excessive popups, or are getting popups even when you are offline. This is the one I use (it will take some time). These are on-line scans, you do not need to uninstall any of your current protections. 1. Scan for virus, worms, dialers, etc. and remove (free online scan) with BitDefender http://www.bitdefender.com/site/home/ 2. Scan for trojans, adware and spyware and remove (free online scan) with Ewido (now called AVG Anti-Spyware) http://www.ewido.net/en/

Popup blockers are part of the browser you are using. Many popups are not from the browser but from Adware programs running on your computer. You may want to check for that with a program such as Adaware. *

it would be in the internet settings if you can not find the settings right click over the internet icon.

That's because it should be connected with your browser, if you have not installed on you don't have one. Both yahoo and google toolbars each have one, download the one you like the best.

If you have a pop-up blocker installed on your computer you should be able to find it in your start menu>All Programs, look for the name of your installed pop-up blocker. If you do not have one installed on your computer you can update your internet explorer and it comes with a built in pop-up blocker. Or you can do a search for a free pop-up blocker on Yahoo! Good Luck

If you are using the latest version of Microsoft Explorer, look under the Tools drop down menu on the far right. About half way down is the Pop-up Blocker option. Turn it on or off.

It's at the top of the page, under your status bar. It might say "100 blocked" or "59 blocked"
