What is the best area of the Barcelona to rent an apartment in?

    Eixample..... Left or Right... Its just above the Placa de University....there are a lot of private holiday apartaments.... about 5 minutes walking distance from the Centre and all the Local transport starts from Placa de Univ.... so its easy to get anywhere.... Cheap too, Buy a T10 bus and metro ticket.(10€) for 10 trips Eixample is the Gay area.... but it's also typical BCN, cool and safe.... UNLIKE la Ramblas.. which is FULL of tourists, and all the faun that live off them........ Noisy drunken louts untill 5 in the morning and you can be sure to get ripped off there.... By the restaurants Bars and pickpockets.

Anywhere on Las Ramblas as it is next to the train, bus and metro . From there you have access to the beach, port and tourist info, shops ect. It is well policed and Las Ramblas has its own street entertainment. All Barcelona attractions can be easily accessed from here wiyh a cheap and reliable transport system. The airport bus drops off at the top of Las Ramblas. shop about as ther is quite a difference in prices I would recomend staying at a Hostel (not a youth hostel) in spain they are called pensionsor an apartment near here. Like any big city dont walk around with a lot of money (pickpockets) I go often and enjoy every visit There are a million things to do I would recommend for your nephew a visit to Nou Camp stadium and the tour bus (excellent) Tibidabo is a fun fair up in the mountains with a spectacular view of Barcelona Enjoy, you will return
