I used to hate my teachers when in college, but when I graduated and started working, I realised that nothing would be as satisfying as teaching something new to a student. The problem with our professors is that they have to teach too much stuff that is too boring and too complex in a very short span of time. That is why they are always in a bad mood. Imagine having to do this over and over again for a long time, and then being abused by students. Add to this the mediocre income and the hard hours. If you are willing to brave all this, then teaching is your calling. Teaching is actually the best form of social service, but beware of expectations, for if you are expecting to start producing star students from the first day itself, you will be disheartened. Try and make friends with the students, and make learning fun. It is important for you to enjoy learning as well as teaching, for the key to being a good teacher is to be a good student first. God Bless you and best of luck!!!!

Teaching can be a good option only if it interests you, if you choose teaching just for the sake of being employed you would be making a big mistake. In order to grow in the line of teaching you would be required to pursue masters and Phd in the future, so if higher education doesnot interest you, better dont opt for teaching because with merely a bachelors degree your growth would be stagnant in the long run. Moreover you can always get into the line of teaching at any stage after working in a company, but it is difficult to change your line from teaching into working for a MNC as your teaching experience would be of no worth for the company hiring you and would regard you as inexperienced.

We want you to be a teacher only if you choose to be teacher and want to enjoy teaching.   A major problem today faced by the industry is teachers without dedication.    When you are a teacher you can make or break your students.   And if you are not really dedicated to what you are doing it will make a huge damage. But if you are choosing to go for another job the employer will see that you are doing what they want or they will show you the way out. But if you really choose to be a teacher, i wish you all the best.  My prayer is that please do not stop learning when you start teaching (Unfortunately that is what is happening in the case of 85% of our teachers).

Well, it would depend on what one enjoys. However, an engineer is more precise in whatever he/she does.

Definitely if you think you'd like it.. My uncle who is a brilliant engineer from iit, whose worked for top notch companies like microsoft is now a professor and he's loving it! You'd think after so many years of being in the field he'd regret working as a lecturer bt he seems to enjoy this more than being the kickass engineer that he is..

Go for teaching, if you feel, you really want to make a difference in the lives of other students. Go for teaching, if you have the passion to read the same books again and again and experience something different from the n-th reading Go for teaching, if you really want to be one of the reasons, for the success of your students Go for teaching, if you want to feel like a student once again in your life with just few subjects to study for a semester Go for teaching, if you really want to master the art of teaching others on how to fish instead of giving them the fish Go for teaching, if you want to search for the same thing again and again from different perspectives ( re-search ---> research ) Go for teaching, if you want to live for some more hundred years, by living in the hearts of your students as good teacher Enjoy your choice

sure teachers now a days get decent packages and god knows engineering colleges can use good teachers but i'd advice you to have a little industry experience just so you become a better teacher. Also it's a myth teaching as a career does't give you a chance to grow. You can join as asst prof. become prof ,HOD,principal there is no limit if you are willing to work hard. Not to mention the opportunities you get for research work if you are teaching in a good institute.

It is a good option.....But it Also depends whether u like to teach or not.......It is your own choice......Listen to whatever ur heart says.....Not by the wish of some other guy......Or by a majority vote on quora....
