Answer:
well you have two options really, search amateur dramatics clubs in your area or study acting somewhere. Age is irrelevant when it comes to acting, as there are always parts for different age groups.

I'd advise you to get involved in a local theatre group first, just to see if you really do love it and are prepared to work your socks off to become a professional. Then consider your options. You could try the big drama schools, but to be honest, they are unlikely to take you – they want kids of 18 with masses of stage school experience and who look the part. There are also about 4,000 applicants for only 24 places a year, and all of these will have loads of experience. But there are alternatives - my daughter didn’t start drama school until she was 22 – and she is now a jobbing actor, with her Equity Card, getting small roles here and there, but more and more all the time. It’s never too late. She went to the Reading Rep College – which is not accredited as they like to do things their way and not the way education departments say they should! They take any ages – at the moment they have students in their teens, 20s, 30s and 40s, it varies so much. It’s not as flash as the big drama schools, but they learn through practical methods – they learn, rehearse and perform a different play every three to four weeks, and every student gets a part, not just a few of them. They learn technique, projection, movement, improvisation, etcetera, all the necessary stuff, but while they are doing it, not just sitting in a classroom talking about it. The course lasts a year, so you’d get your Equity Card quicker than if you did a three year course. It’s very hard work, but great fun and my daughter loved every minute of it. You have to make the scenery, hammer it together, make props, just like the old rep companies used to. She’s met several actors who did go to the big schools, and they’ve all said that they didn’t learn as much as she obviously has. Although some people in the business look down on it because it’s only a small college, but she’s getting as much work as them. They also allow you to spread your course fees over the year, so it’s easier to afford it. The only thing you should know is that as the students have to attend the college Monday to Friday from 9 to 5, and you really do need the evenings and weekends to learn your lines and perform, you wouldn’t be able to have a part-time job like you can at the university and other drama schools. Sorry if this sounds like an advert, but I go to most of their plays and they’re really good. Do consider it - they're a lovely bunch, really friendly and they continue to look out for their students long after they leave. Good luck with whatever you decide!

You can become an actor at any age. Look on Google for local community theaters. Then go to the auditions and stuff. That will get you experience. I think you should do a couple of shows before you try to go full force into movies. That way you can decide if you REALLY like it! Getting involved with film/tv work is a huge commitment. You also need to have finances. Resumes, head shots, cover letters. It adds up! Good luck!!

Well you don't know if you really want to be an actress if you've never done it before. If I were you, I would start with acting classes, college plays (if you're in college), and community theatre to see if you even really like it.

You can start dating at any age and you really need to start with a community theater.

There are no age requirements to becoming an actor. Check out the local professional actor's union and see what is required.
