Sounds like you're well on your way. Just keep practicing. It'll come to you. Don't push too hard to connect to the audience. Sometimes imagining that they are who you want them to be and that they are responding like you want helps you keep focused on what you need to think about.

Don't give a "speech". Tell a story. Let's say that your subject is Underwater Basket Weaving. Instead of telling everyone how to weave baskets underwater or why they should. Tell a story about your Uncle Fred and Aunt Lucy and how they taught you how to weave baskets underwater.

The best way to improve public speaking skills to to publicly speak in front of others, get comfortable. When you are comfortable and your presentation is over, look for toast masters meetings neer you and try attending some of those. I have attended a few and it has really helped!

The long term answer is experience, constantly speaking in front of crowds, gets easier every time you do it. A short term solution is giving the speech to a friend(s) or family member(s). After you get used to delivering the information in front of a friendly crowd, you can usually give a speech more comfortably in front of people you don't know well. If you don't have anyone to give the speech to try practicing in front of a mirror.

i used to have trouble public speaking because i was nervous so after i auditioned for a school play, i got less nervous with it. about the speaking fast, dont think TOO hard about what you`re saying because it might help you slow down and try to make eye contact with people farther out in the audience.

i like quotes.

ur just like me! i always freeze wen alot of people r looking at me on stages but the idea is to remind of yourself that ur not going to die just get it ovr w/ HAHA yeah it sometimes works for me you can always imagine ur audience in their polka dot undergraments lol

Pick out several individuals in the room, in various locations and talk briefly to each one making eye contact. Talk as if you are making a point in a conversation to a friend. To sell yourself (ie, your point of view) always be sincere and open. Do not memorize your speech. Practice at home, use cue cards for major points you want to emphasize, but speak to those points extemporaneously. If you're not "really" nervous, that will, once your skills are honed, make you a good public speaker. rule of thumb for a speech, tell them what you are going to tell them, then tell them, with details and support, then, sum up by telling them what you told them. Good luck!

SENCE OF HUMOR ALWAYS WINS OVER A CROWN. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU MAKE FUN OF YOURSELF AND HOW NERVOUS YOU ARE. IT ALLOW THE AUDIENCE TO SEE AS HUMAN BUT NOT DUMB
