Is this a good start to my character analysis of Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet?

According to Act 1 and Act 2, Benvolio has been viewed as a supporting character with not much importance. But in Act 3, Benvolio seems to have much more importance and more evident ...show more

Answer:
I think you need a little overall introduction to the character before you go into his changing role. It helps to contrast a minor character's actions with those of a more important character. In Romeo and Juliet, Mercutio, probably the strongest character in the play dies in the 3rd Act. Benvolio has to fill in because now Romeo has only one friend. ===================== Benvolio is Romeo's cousin and friend. His character is one that reacts to action. He seldom initiates anything . He is constantly trying to defuse violence in public places and to help Romeo through his private turmoil. Benvolio is relegated to a minor supporting role in the first two acts. He spends a great deal of time worrying about the lovesick Romeo's. In contrast, the world-weary Mercutio seems extremely amused by the naive Romeo. After the double murder of Mercutio and Tybalt in Act III, Benvolio's importance to the story increases as Romeo is obviously in need of trustworthy companionship. =======================

Yes Rachel, the weekend is coming up and you probably won't feel like doing an English project while all your friends are having fun. Anyway Benvolio has some pretty interesting moves that will make it much more interesting and you will probably read more than assigned! And another good motivator is that the sooner you get started, the sooner you will finish. Have a great evening and you won't feel guilty for not have started sooner. Bye for now Rachel, Max.

yea but in act 1 he is also shown as a peacemaker among the montagues and he is also a caring, almost brotherly figure, to romeo when he questions why hes sad. hes also clever in the way he finds out romeo is in love with rosaline and how he encourages romeo that its not the end of the world.

Yeah thats pretty good. He does get pretty important later in the story. In fact, Shakespeare purposely killed him off because he had too much personality and he wanted the story to focus more on Romeo and Juliet.
