How does someone with no acting experience get into acting?

One just needs to jump into it... You cant just wait and see what happens with it, just get in there and do your best. It will never become real if you don't make it real yourself.

Join local amateur dramatic groups.Also offer your services at local theatres.Get your foot in the door.Even if you start off just helping with costumes, it's a start with rubbing shoulders with actors.

get into an acting class at your local school (elementary, middle, or high school) and learn your basics.

Audition and see what happens. If you don't get a part, ask them why and what you need to work on. Use their criticism constructively and work to change what they said needed change. There are also many acting classes that you can take to hone your skill.

There are plenty of acting schools and probably some in your area, use your search engine and check it out.
