Very carefully. A lot end up on the "casting couch" Go through your parents for it all.

Get a job as a waitress.

joint he drama club in school to build up stage experience and int he meantime compelte your studies so you'll have soemthign to fall back on. then major in drama in college. there's schools out there for acting. colleges. Go to one of those. don't do open castign calls until your learn your proffession if you are really serious.

Get involedin local drama things, then if you are sure this is what you want to do join a casting agency. Take all the jobs you can get even if it is just extras, so when you get a good rep casting directors can see you have got experience. join a drama school out of normal class, get good grades so when you are between jobs you can still get in some cash, remember dont expect to be overloaded with offers when you start you have to earn and work really hard to make it, its a very big commitment.

Join the drama department at your school and sign-up for acting classes. Ask one of your parents to call the community collge in your city to ask where you can take acting lessons.

start taking acting classes then look for auditions

everybody wants a resumee...your not even going to get into any serious casting calls without anykind of background...so go to a local thearter group, or star in your school play...go to some sort of kids acting classes or personal lessons...but be warned that though you are a young kid and following your dreams are what they tell you to do...some people do spend a lifetime at the bottum and that dream of yours is in these days, at an extremely high level...you know there can only be so many people on the stage, got to be some to watch it!

join the HS drama club, it seems lame but it's free experience, participate in plays, make your resume with head shots go to casting calls if you're in the area, consider it scoping the scene and don't feel bad that you don't get the first one.
