  • I wanted to know if you have ever been skydiving because I don't know if it is scary or not.

    I have about 500 jumps in the last four years. Skydiving is wonderful. Is there an element of "fear" in each jump, but it is more of a health respect for the sport and the fact you are jumping out of a plane. The feeling of the skydive is a little different for everyone but for most it is a feeling of freedom, relaxing and floating, there is no falling sensation. every person I've talked to says for their first jump the scary part was being in the plane and getting to door. Once in free fall everyone loves it! enjoy you jumps!!! Blue Skies!

All my jumps were by static-line to C-130s, C-141s, OH-1s, and a Caribou while assigned in the 82nd Airborne Division and XVIII Airborne Corps. I never had the pleasure of skydiving, using one of those fancy foils and land in a Shirley Temple format. All my jumps were bone-jarring, teeth-rattling stoppages.
