How long does it take for paintballs to dry?

How to take care of paintballs?

  • i paintball shoot a lot and most of the balls pop before they leave the barell how can i keep the in good shape so that wont happen

  • Answer:

Store them in their original bags in a moderately dry area (not humid, so they don't swell) & away from all heat sources (so they don't melt together). Temperature should be 50-65°F, ideally. Rotate the box often, every day if you can - the box has six sides, use them all (prevents the balls from settling & developing dimples). Under optimum conditions, paint can last up to 3 months. After that, the paint inside can begin to congeal, and the shells can get "stale" (less likely to break if you shoot someone, which is bad cuz you'd never get anyone out). However, it could be the gun just chopping the paintballs, in which case the most common solution is you need a faster hopper to increase the feed rate. Also, if you're shooting hot (above the legal velocity limit of 300 fps), that could pop paintballs, too.

Keep them in your refrigerator, clean your barrel and oil it up with gun oil, buy high quality paintballs and get a good gun and barrel.

What brand of paint are you using? That can be the entire problem if you don't have good paint. Some things you could try are keeping it at a temperature of about 60-70 degrees Farenheit, and don't have anything sitting on top of them to distort their shape. And to make sure you have the right size barrel you can do a simple test. Take the barrel off the marker and put a paintball into the barrel (the end with the threads). Then blow into that side and if it comes out the other end then it's good, but if it doesn't budge or gets stuck half way through then you need a new barrel with a bigger bore size. If that is the case then get a barrel with a bore size of .693, CP makes a great 14" barrel for like $30. It's amazing for the price.

well you just store them anywhere but warm or cold enviroments just room tempature and if it's cheap paint it tends to do that.

Dont buy the crappy paintballs and always clean the barrel of your gun....its that simple....also get a good paintball gun so the paintballs dont pop or get stuck in the barrel
