Try using old barbie dolls types of dolls that have hollow bodies and will absorb the bb's better.

Carpeting is good, but modelin clay or styrofom is better. I have a range in my bed room (dont worry its ventilated) and I use a beeman pellet trap and some modleing clay behind that.
