What paintball gun barrel should I get?

  • I just bought a new tippmann a5 with a response trigger and i am trying to decide on a barrel upgrade. I play woodsball with my friends and it is not uncommon for us to shoot at each ...show more

either a flatline of apex barrel is great for distance, but remember, the farther you are from your enemy, the less likely it will be for the paintball to break on him, even if you are lucky enough to get a hit. I would just go out and get a freak barrel kit, they provide the best accuracy I have seen. distance really doesn't matter to me, since I play mostly speedball, and when I play woods, I like to hunt (I'm not gonna shoot once I see you and give away my position, I'm coming after you). I do, however, have a flatline barrel on my 98 custom, and it is pretty loud. accuracy is fine, as long as you put the barrel on straight and set your velocity correctly. with the apex barrel, you get more ball control, but I hated adjusting the barrel every time, so I got over it. It would be a deadly barrel to have if you have the time to really practice with it, I just don't have that kind of patience. plus many people consider it cheating, since you can hit a guy without even seeing him.

The apex and the flatline are the same but i like the apex better because unlike the flatline i can turn the apex off when im not shooting 200 feet away, the flatline cant. about it being inaccurate both are like that. The problem with keeping the flatline on is that when they get close to your your done lol, your going to get screwed, but with the apex you just turn it off and shoot back no problems. Trust me both do the same thing but one can be turned off.

The Apex isn't that complicated, but the flatline is inaccurate ive heard. The Flatline is loud also, so it would blow your cover right away, The Apex is cheaper also, and goes farther, so i would get it, But im low on money right now! lol You could get another barrel if you get the Apex also in all the barrel w/ another barrel ( I recommend Lapco Big Shot w/ Apex ready so you can just take off the apex off its stock barrel and put it on the Lapco(its more accurate this way)) but if you don't want a barrel like that, you can get a regular barrel, I have 2 examples http://www.pntball.com/Items/35099296?&caSKU=35099296&caTitle=Empire%2014''%20Tippmann%20A5%20A-5%20Twister%20Paintball%20Barrel%20-%20Black That one is made so it is a lot like a rifle barrel, making the ball spin so its more accurate. http://www.pntball.com/Items/111109636?&caSKU=111109636&caTitle=14''%20Smart%20Parts%20Tippmann%20A5%20A-5%202006%20PROGRESSIVE%20Barrel and this is just a regular, super accurate barrel
