my cybergun sigma sw40f is 7 years old and works flawlessly. the gun works fine, the problems are with the magazines, the seals may leak gas sometimes and finding spare hi cap 40 capacity magazines is very difficult. the 3 spares i ordered from cobra airsoft (in HK) leaks one day and doesn't the next. the factory mag is fully functional and reliable. gas guns i've never had one break, either from not being used for several years and then suddenly used heavily or from consistent heavy use. in my experience it's the electrics and spring guns that break and some way too fast. buying spring and electric is basically throwing money away. gas guns can last 30 years. electrics maybe 5, spring guns probably 2 years. my cybergun is nothing special, just a $55 clearance buy back in 2006, a clear plastic gun. in 2008 i painted it, and over the years it's shot 170 co2 cartridges, at 160 shots per cartridge that's at least 27,000 times. i dry fire it alot too (no gas) and it's been dropped and beat up. most of the use is not airsofting, due to it's realism it's mostly used for training purposes. I estimate it's been dry fired another 10,000 times so it's been heavily used. but its still working, still like new.

None of the guns I've owned have broken but, gas pistols need to be cleaned every hundred rounds! The cheaper ones also jam easily, besides that they don't break.......well at least not for me.

If you are tired of them breaking, get the Elite Force 1911 Tactical. It's beautiful and you can attach a mock suppressor and a flashlight/laser to it.

I've had my full metal M1911 for about 2/3 years now, and its bulletproof. It also cost 120 dollars. Its by far the most fun airsoft gun I've used because it actual had a sort of recoil. I'd say go for it, just don't cheap out- definatley stay away from anything plastic

I had a CO2 pistol that worked great. It broke eventually from neglect on my part and carelessness on my brothers... but for the year or so I had it worked marvellously.
