    It's hard to answer this question without an exact price range. There is a really good automatic AK-47 on airsoftgi.com for about $95-100. Thats about the cheapest you can get a quality AEG.

Ah, peoples, peoples! The man said BEGINNER airsoft gun! Not "crappy" airsoft gun! For a good starter gun that still WORKS good, I suggest the TF 11. Its a Mac 11 (Mini Uzi), so its not all big and hunkin. Perfect automatic/semi automatic starter. Its C02 powered and shoots at 350 FPS. $80 - 100. Can be seen here: http://www.airgundepot.com/tafotfclco2f.html Although, typically people start off with spring powered guns. This way they can adapt to the game and get a feel for what its like without spending too much on something they aren't sure if they're going to use alot. If you change your mind on an auto/semi auto, I suggest the TSD M14. Its good for a 'big gun' starter: http://www.trinityairsoft.com/p-750-tsd-m14-sniper-spring-airsoft-gun.aspx Costs about $55-70 depending on kit. (they have different versions that come with different stuff.) Don't listen to the stated FPS. It can range from 300 - 400, depending on the BB used. (.2 - .12 respectively) I own one, its says on the box...
