Which Paintball marker is better for first gun?

Is the Tippmann X7 Electro PHENOM Paintball Marker a good first time gun?

  • I'm looking to buy a paintball gun for the first time and I was wondering if this gun would be a good choice.

  • Answer:

Yes it will make a fine marker one you won't have to worry about having to replace to upgrade Tippmann markers are one of the toughest markers out there & the X7 is a great marker for any level of play & w/ the electronics you will be able learn how that all works if you decide to play speedball If you are intending to play speedball I would not recommend the X7 I would look at an Ion or a proto

Well I gotta represent the other side of ballers here. If I were you, unless you're really looking for something mil-sim, id ge't a speedball gun. I haven’t seen a phenom yet, but I’ve seen plenty of X7s as well as other tippmans, and personally I’ve hated them. I know people love them for their reliability and looks (both valid points) but if you are responsible with the gun and treat it well, most guns shouldn’t be too much of a problem. I really have to disagree with those who say that you should go cheap. I’m assuming that you’ve played and like the sport if you’re looking into a gun. What’ll happen is if you get a cheap gun, chances are it’ll either be just that: cheap or a gun that you’ll become less content with. On the flip side a back up gun can’t hurt too much if you have the money. Reasons to go speedball- weight/versatility (woodsball guns are just big and bulky) also means you can play speedball if you want. rate of fire(I can shoot far faster in semi than a tipp in auto and mostly, for the reasons above I usually see speedballers destroy woodsballers. (there are probably other reasons as well :) ) So if you want mil-sim go with the phenom but I’d recommend other kinds of guns

Difinately stick with a Tippmann. They make the best markers. The X7 Electro Phenom might be a little bit much as the first gun you purchase. Most people start out with the Tippmann A5. This is more of an entry level gun. But if you have the time to learn the in's and out's of the Phenom, it's a great gun.

Not sure it's a good first gun depending on your age and skill level. But let's put it this way - you won't be buying a replacement marker as an upgrade in the near future. Very smooth performance, essentially the X7 Phenom takes tournament level internals and packages them in a military style shell. Many of the standard X7 factory accessories will work with the exception of the mags, the phenom still have tons of aftermarket parts and upgrades available due to the popularity of the original X7. You can always jump on the manufacturer's website and download a pdf file of the manual. This will allow to understand the internals and the egrip programs. Hope this helps! http://www.rockstartactical.com/product_p/tipp-x7-phen.htm

If you can afford it then yes it is a great gun. If you would like something cheaper the Tippmann 98 or even a Spyder would be a good first time gun. You can always upgrade. Also check out this website for some great deals http://www.pntball.com

I wouldn't recommend dropping that much cash on your first gun, regardless of who's paying for it. It is a good gun, though. I'd recommend a 98 Custom or A-5 over the Phenom as a first gun, simply for the price difference.

Tippmann makes great guns. I would suggest this one or either the 98 custom. both great guns for the first time paintballer. good durability and performance

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! alll tippmann guns are bullshit! just get an ion or a proto or anything else just not this!!!!! don't go for woodsball and looks and all that extra crap. just get a nice good gun that works. I suggest a proto or dye gun, maybe used if you want a high end one at a cheap price. I have a pm7.

Jon

look it up & look at the reviews for it.

Cody

that gun is overkill! mom and dad must really like you!
