What FPS would my airsoft gun get?

.12 bbs are low grade and will reduce your accuracy and slowly have negative effects on your gun. however you gun is so weak that if you use .2 bbs it will break your gun and reduce your range. continue using .12 until you have a gun tat shots at least 280fps with .2g ammo.

Do not listen to Evan. I am a professional airsofter and the term "Wal-Mart gun" is to airsoft as Lemon is to car. It just signifies overpriced garbage. Now, on to my helpful answer. Unless you're using a spring pistol, .12s are a big no-no, as they are only used in low-quality and low-performance guns, and most airsoft arenas do not even allow them. If you're looking for solid performance with a budget price, as I assume you're just messing around with friends which is cool, look up Airsplat.com, Airsoftatlanta.com, or shortyusa.com. Here, you'll find professionals, whereas at Wal-Mart you'll find blank stares. More specifically, look for products by the manufacturers JG, Echo 1 or Golden Bow, as they are the cheapest AEGs (Automatic Electrics) available that don't sacrifice quality. I've used a JG SIG 552, which is a steal at $105 on Airsplat.com.

JG is an abreviation for Jing Gong which translated to English means Golden Bow. Echo1 is not quite the same as JG, they take some guns from JG, improve them, and than sell them, but they make some of there own guns to. So yeah, buy a JG/Jing Gong/golden Bow or for the best quality that is still pretty cheap get an echo1. there are problems with the companies that the answer above listed. Airsplat is cheaper, but they mess up orders a lot, and sometimes you get broken guns when you recieve it. Bad service Shorty Usa overprices there guns way to much. An Echo1 that you can find easily for $150 will cost $200 on that website and it sais its on sale. I usually buy from www.airsoftgi.com where its good service, they test your gun to make sure it works and they tell you how fast yours shoots(fps), and they aren't to expensive. www.evike.com has a large selection of guns and I have only bought one from their website and it came fast, and it worked and the other two things I ordered came to. that is an alright place to order from

okay. 150 fps is weak. under 3 is going to be horrible. and .12 are un accurate. now, that gun will break in a few days. never EVER get a aeg under 200. it wont be accurate any more than 10 feet

Well, if you're getting a gun that's $50 most likely it's Spring operated. If the gun shoot's 250-290fps using .12g (yes they do suck) it will shoot slightly lower if your using .20g BB's (which are heavier). Just noticed that it said electric. I wouldn't buy an electric gun for $50 online, they are not that good, are cheaply made, and will break easy. I bought an electric G36C for around the same price starting out and it broke the next day. That's a very cheap gun, so .12 gram BBs are probably what it is meant to shoot. If you ever get serious about airsoft and decide to invest in something better, you would be wise to avoid .12's like the plague. In more expensive guns, .12's can cause internal damage.

If I were you I would not buy an airsoft gun online, but at a big 5, wall mart or some place else that you can ask a professional about this.
