What is a good speedball and woodsball gun?

What would be a good low end paintball gun good for woodsball and speedball?

  • Answer:

Okay. Inexpensive options: Spyders and Pirahnas: Less than $100 Tippmans with response triggers, etc. $100-200 I've had friends have bad experiences with Smart Parts, so I'm biased against them, but if you want to try them, go for it. And stay away from Wal-Mart. The gear there sucks, for the most part.

You cant go wrong with Tippmann. I know they are a tad bit more expensive then WalMart, but you can get an awesome USED paintball marker for cheap on places like eBay. Here is a place that does just that http://paintballequipmentgear.com/

all those people are wrong, the smart parts SP8 can definentally hold its own in woodsball and speed ball, especially since it comes with semi, rebound, three-shot burst, and fullauto modes

well you cant buy a woodsball gun that would be good for speedball. u could get an a-5 an put a tone of money into and make it shoot 20 bps. i would spend 100 get a tippman 98. then spend 200 and get like a 2k2 timmy or a mini or a proto rail.

well i use a Tippman 98 Custom with A.C.T this works well...free of jams and very reliable, durable can definitely handle woodsball....im pretty sure though that to even get a hit in Speedball you'd need an automatic??? i dont play often but i think so anyway. If your just looking for a cheap, good quality brand named gun then go tippman...there a household name in paitnballing.

Wal-Mart is the worst place to buy paintball gear. Even if some stuff is ok (like stuff they offer online but not in-store), their sales associates know nothing about paintball and will not be able to help you. In fact, you'll be lucky if there are any employees around to help you and if there are, they probably don't even speak english. Or maybe that's just around here. What's your budget? If you want a decent setup, be prepared to spend at least $100 on the gun alone. Spyders & Tippmanns are good beginner guns but Smart Parts & Proto are battling it out for best entry-level guns. The SLG is Proto's entry-level gun and has some pretty nice features for the price but needs hpa to run well. The Vibe is Smart Parts' entry-level gun now (along with the SP-1, which is just a milsim Vibe) and is designed to run on co2, which helps beginners a lot, since hpa tanks are $50-200 and not everyone can get hpa fills readily.

I would say the Tippman A-5 or X-7 also look into the kingman MR2, MR3, or the E-MR1

Good plan (seriously)... buying one marker for both woods and speedball games. Check out an electro. Even though you will be shooting semi-auto like mechanical markers, you will be able to obtain higher ROF and BPS. Proto SLG Spyder Electra 08 Smart Parts Ion
