Answer:
are you talking about a snell knot? http://www.fishingkites.co.nz/fishingknots/snell_fishing_knots.html ok so theres a couple of different way of snelling a hook, which one is stronger i dont know, but i know which one is easiest the first link is for the easier one, but you need a hook with an eye. http://www.fishingkites.co.nz/fishingknots/snell_fishing_knots.html the second link is a little harder but the line need not pass thru an eye as long as the hook is properly made. the second style was used back in the old days when eye less hooks were popular. personally whichever kind of know i use i always pass it thru the eye just in case. hope this helped

i dont know the common knots they use but i use the improved clinch knot. theres many other knots you can use but the improved clinch knot or trilene knot is my favorite since its easy to tie and remember. well heres a website with a few different knots so you can try them out and figure out what ones are best for you. it gives in good descriptions on how to tie em to so that should help out! http://www.animatedknots.com/indexfishing.php
It can be a palomar knot, a trilene knot, or a clinch knot. OK, there are about a dozen others, but those are the ones I use.

There are hundreds of fishing knots, but the one you are talking about is probably the snelled knot. Youre looking at some Eagle Claw Laser hooks? I like and use the Palomar, Trilene, improved clinch, and a few others.. Go on youtube, or follow the links a few of the guys provided, and learn a few knots..

Most hooks with leaders attached are "snelled", but you can use any knot you want if you want to do it yourself. I use the "Uni-knot" to make a snell if you want to go back to it. I find it easy to knot. The most popular fishing knots are the "Palomar" and "Improved clinch" knots, because they are proven strong and easy to tie. Other knots are just as good but many find it complex to memorize or takes too long. Of course there is a time and place for every knot.

My 2 favourite knots are the Palomar & Improved Clinch. Type em' in on google and you'll find plenty of tutorials.
