What are good ways to improve internet marketing skills?

It depends on what level you're at, but in my opinion, top 5 ways are: 1. Read recently published books to get a basic grounding in a specific channel. 2. Read blogs from industry experts to keep up to date. Personally, I recommend http://moz.com/blog and http://searchenginewatch.com 3. Attend conferences (especially larger ones such as Search Love) but most major cities have regular local events as well. These is also great for networking. 4. Talk to colleagues or friends in your industry over lunch or drinks. Especially people from different levels, juniors have great front line insights and seniors can talk strategy. 5. Build, measure, learn like a lean startup. Think of something you want to learn, decide what metrics can prove it and run a test. Learning by doing is one of the best ways and improves your business in the process.

For me, to improve internet marketing skills you need to master the art of negotiation, be creative, think out of the box mate.There are plenty of other skills that you need to work on such as: critical thinking, problem solving, copywriting, how to get traffic (paid or free), and so much more.
