Catfishing: catfish rod/reel combo at wallyworld,,how big a fish you think it will reel in?

hey man, there will be plenty of people going to bash the walley world reel and rod combos because they 1) come from walmart and 2) they are not expensive...but i can tell you one thing. I have expensive rods and reels. all from bass rods perch rods and surf and deepsea rods. most of them are expensive reel and rods but i also have a couple of rod and reels combos that i have actually had longer than all the rods that i have---no i lied there are two that are older but both the reels and both the rods have been great great reels. i bought them because i was going to go surf fishin at a place that i never went and i didnt know if i was going to drown them or drop them or just beat the hell out of them or what i was going to do with them so i didnt buy an expensive set up. i still use them i still have them and they are great reels i have drug up 20-30 lb cats sharks stingrays and many many bass with them. take care of them and you will have them for a good long while. man i hope that helps you out a bit good luck good fishin be safe and remember to share the experience

20 pound test will bring in a large fish as long as you don't push the issue and try to reel it in as fast as possible. It could easily pull in a 50+ pound fish.

If it says 8 to 30 probably 20 it would hold I don't think it would too much over that! Don't make fun of walmart my mom works there!

fished right it will catch fish over 40 pound i have done it. (huge blues)

i have one its awesome. i use it on anywhere from 5 pound carp to 20 pound salmon all the way up to 60 or 70 pound cats on the Mississippi

You can't go wrong with a Zebco 404 or 33. Either one will work for big fish. The Zebco 303 may be a little weak. I think 20lb test is a bit much--12lb test is more than sufficient. I have Zebco 404's and Berkley combos that I use for crappie fishing and I've pulled in 3-4 lbs catfish. Good Luck <,*}}}}><
