What is the taut line hitch knot used for?

Whats the knot called thats used to attach a hook to the line?

Fishermans knot is what we call this one. Put your little and ring finger at the hook, wrap the line around itself about 7-8 times and feed it back through the hole that your fingers are in. Its quick, easy and works great.
