What is the best place to catch fish in a lake? Like the area?

I'm going to camp and i want to catch the biggest fish, and the most.

Answer:
You should be able to find a map of the lake. Look for any rivers or streams entering the lake. The place where water enters a lake often holds fish. Look at the way the land is around the lake. A steep hill rising from the lakeshore suggests deep water close to shore. Then, you need to find out what kind of fish the lake holds My personal suggestion is that you try to catch pike, if you want biggest. And they are a great fight. For most, try for perch or bluegills.

First off can you get a topo map of the water you will be fishing? Will you have a boat? If so use answers from others on how to and where to fish and good luck!

I usually catch mine when I am least expecting it . Usually when I am not worried about catching the biggest or the most. Some times it seems I catch more when I am there to enjoy the day and nature . As far as a general rule most fish will be near structure ,or depth changes in a lake. Its hard to answer your question not knowing what kinda fish your trying to catch

inlets and structure, these are the 2 areas I most look at when fishing any lake. fresh water brings nutrients and oxygen, so inlets are always a good place to look at. structure gives fish hiding places or ambush points, so look at areas with vegetation or boulders, submerged creek channels are excellent because they often have both fresh water and cover for the fish, main lake points also are good spots to look at, but every lake has it's own personality so you'll have to look at your lake and decide where the "likely spots" will be....

try any fingers that reach out from the lake, also if the lake passes through a narrow spot (under a road, etc...) try fishing near that, also around any shelter or weeds

Fish like to "hide" so try near downed branches/trees, shrubs, etc. To be more specific would require your question to be more specific. Certain places have certain types of fish and each fish has unique tendencies about hiding, etc.

i assume you have no fish finder...it really depends on the lake...northern (deep) lakes are much differnet than shallow (southern ) lakes...try around the edge if there is growth there were fish may hide...if not try the going out in a straight line towards the center stopping every 100 yds or so and see if you hit a good spot. If you get to the center and no fish then go to your 3 oclack and o the same thing coming in, keep doing this and you'll eventually find tehm sneaky fish.
