Not too many people use these, and they are a tad expensive, but Helgramites are amazing. They are similar I guess to centipedes maybe, but they will sink those fish!

The best bait for those big bass out there!!!!! You can pop it along the bottom or just reel it in.....easy enough (the second link is the link with the proper hooks for the bait)

I've tried all of the "normal" bass lures, plastic worms, plastic lizards, soft jerkbaits, topwater poppers, topwater frogs, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and plenty others, but one bait that I almost ALWAYS caught bass on was the curly-tailed grub. I used the Mann's Curly Tailed Grub in the color Pumpkin Pepper rigged on a 1/8oz unpainted jig head. I just reeled it fast enough to keep it inches off the bottom and the tail spinning. I'd definitely recommend one of these Mann's grubs for bass fishing.

Fishing Addict

Well for some big bass no matter where you are fishing go to the pet store, and ask for extra large grubs, put 3 on a treble hook, toss it out there with a bobber and you will hammer them! Good Luck!

well depending if you going for large mouth or small. if smallmouth use a spinner bait. if largemouth use top waters, but i go bass fishing in cold waters all the time and catch 20 an hour. with curly tail grubs! when i used the spinnerbait and the topwater i only got 2 fish in a day. http://images.google.ca/images?hl=en&gbv=2&tbs=&sa=1&q=curly+tail+grubs&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&start=0

Well this will depend on your answers to the following questions: Are you referring to natural bait or artificial bait? Where are you located and are you on a river, reservoir or a lake? What is the water clarity where you will be fishing? What is the temperature of the water where you are fishing? What time of day will you be fishing? Are you fishing from a boat or from shore? What type of cover will you be fishing? What is the depth range of the water you are fishing? What type of equipment will you be using (ie spinning or baitcasting reel, and how long is the rod that you will use and what action is it? ) What species of Bass are you fishing for? (Smallmouth, Largemouth, or Spotted Bass?) You dont have to get complicated right off the bat. The questions above are just a small sample of the considerations you will want to think about if you decide to get serious about fishing bass.
