How big was the biggest mahi mahi?

Is mahi mahi (from what i know is a pacific ocean fish)and Dolphin,(an atlantic ocean fish,one and the same?

    Mahi-Mahi, Bull Dolphin, or Dorado as they say down in Mexico are all the same as far as I'm concerned. Here's a good site to help confirm my theory. http://www.mexfish.com/fish/dorad/dorad.htm There is a little trick I learned catching Bull Dolphin in the Gulf of Mexico years ago. These fish usually swim in small schools, so once someone hooks one of these fish on the boat, keep it on the hook swimming close by the boat and the rest of the school will hang around to be fished for. 40yr exp

The only real difference is the name. Other than that no there is no real difference in the fish. The coloring changes a bit with fish being lighter or darker depending on their diet. But if you took a fish from Hawaii and compared it to a Florida fish an amature would not be able to tell the difference.

everyone has pretty much covered it, except to clarify that the Bull Dolphin (same Mahi Mahi, Durado) is a fish, not a Dolphin which is a mammal.
