Weather in Playa del Carmen, Mexico end of October?

I plan on spending a week in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, leaving October 21, 2006. I'm also planning on spending a day in Cozumel, getting there via the ferry. The rates are great ...show more

I think the month of October would be wrong according to timing , as the weather forecast is not travel friendly and visiting there at that time would make you face trouble as its hurricane month. otherwise its a nice place to visit .

DEFINITELY NOT SAFE. They say this year is the worst for hurricaines. I got married last October and we went to Riviera Maya (right next to Cozumel). We got caught in hurricaine WILMA. We will NEVER travel during hurricaine season again, it was the single worst experience ever!
