How not to get paint on the carpet?

  • im painting skirting boards at home but i cant take the carpet up. How do i stop getting the paint on the carpet?

    use an old sheet, or blanket that you don't mind keeping as a "paint drop" sheet/blanket. or, if you don't have those, go to the dollar store, and but some shower curtains for a dollar, and use those.

You can buy drop chothes at paint supply store wish they cost alot rubber back only are will soak on carpet. Best and cheapest is curtains rubber back only - Good-Will or Thrift Stores.*

grant1000 is right, ask them about dropcloths for painting and explain about the carpet, they can point you to what you need. Newspaper will NOT help in this case!

Spread something paint can get on around were you are painting.

Go to a Menards or lowes, they have carpet drapes that you can buy for about $30-40, they cover the whole floor, and when you are done you can wash it and use it again the next time you paint something.

put newpapers and then tape them so they won't move

Put a plastic sheet over the carpet

Put some plastic or newspapers over it. If the paint drips, you're safe.
