Maradona is the best player I have ever been fortunate enough to enjoy but from what I understand from people older than me Pele was just as good a player and there were never any disciplinary problems with the great Brazilian.

Pele played on far stronger teams. Maradona won that cup by himself. Pele had Garrincha first and a virtual dream team in 1970. I believe Pele was better because he was at his peak longer but the reality is that it is a matter of opinion, sort of comparing apples and oranges. Suffice to say Pele and Maradona are two of the greatest to have played the beautiful game.
