First they both captured the Worlds attention with their ability to amaze in the soccer world(most people argue over who was the best ever)...the difference is that Pele played and still lives with class,honesty a true ambassador and spokesman for the game...whereas Maradona is a no-class,cheating(the hand of God goal against England)drug addict(numerous cocaine problems).

Pele is believed to be the best player of all time, top scorer of several world cups. Now Maradona is arguably the best player too, but has less accomplishments,but has won the cup too, while they played in different eras, its fair to notice that Maradona played the game at a later time when soccer was more developed, and players were better tarined then in the times of Pele. To all of this players of today like Ronaldo, Ronaldhino, and so on, to me seem like better athletes then Pele or Maradona, because they play a sport that is highly competitive, much more then 10, 20 years ago, soccer has evolved alot, and now in days been physically able to play the sport is just the tip of the iceberg, you got to be able to mentally be a master at the sport too, which is something not everyone can do.

Pele was an awesome soccer player from Brazil that lead Brazil to a World Cup Championship when he was only 17. Thats right...17. He went on to play for the New York Cosmos in the 70's. A legend. Maradona was an Argentinian soccer player that was an amazing playmaker. He could dribble through a whole team with such finesse. He is unfortunately more known for a few negative things: His "mano de dios" or "Hand of God" which was a very controversial goal scored in the 1986 World Cup in which he scored a goal with his hand and the Referee didn't see it. He has also had a history of drug problems.
