Hallo, I live in north east of Italy, in a town called Trieste. Here, you can rant an appartament with 1 bedroom (about 50 square meters) for 400-500€ (630-700 USD); an appartamente with 2 rooms about 550-750€ (770-1050 USD). A pizza in a pizzeria, with beer, coffee and service you can pay 15-20€ (20-35 USD). A bus ticket cost 1.1€ (1,60$),gasoline cost about 1,25€/liter; a sanity ticket max 38€, a drink in a bar from 2 to 7€. If you want to live here alone you need from 900 to 1200€. The most common salary (for a clark) is 1200-1300€. For any others questions, contact me friendly. Bye. PS: look my town on google... and in your town what's the life cost?

Hi, I found my room through a site called Subito.it (link below). Choose the area and then select room to rent. The cost depends on where you are but 300 - 600 euros per month is the rough figure. Obviously you can halve that if you share. I went for a room that includes all bills; that way there are no nasty surprises! Going out depends on how much you drink! Food can always be found cheaply outside of tourist areas. Have a wander around and listen; if all the customers are speaking Italian it's not an overpriced tourist trap. Pizza should be 6 - 10 euros plus you almost always have to pay a cover charge of 1-2 euros on top. Alcohol can be expensive in bars but you can buy good wine for 6 or 7 euros a bottle and take it to a piazza with some friends. A travel card for unlimited bus journeys in Florence is 30 euros a month, otherwise you pay over a euro for a single ticket. Trains are affordable check out the Italian Train site (ferroviedellostato.it) website which is available in English to get prices for train trips. Overall, I think it's possible to manage on 1200 euros a month but you'd need more if you want to travel around the country a lot
