  • Answer:

Live in Venice?Really expensive!!! it is an interesting "beautiful" city Venice, but because everything is lived on the waters,it is really slow! And overall the venicians are not that friendly, comparing to the rest of the region Veneto! it is fantastic and magical going there for a short holiday but i wont never live there, rather i would live in some little village or city around venice like Vicenza (the city of Palladio), Padova or Verona (the city of Romeo and Juliett).Anyway good luck! ciao.Luigi

Hi, I'm Italian living in Italy and I have to say something for the truth's sake... I like very much my Country, especially for the reasons that have maken it famous in the whole World: A very great historic tradition, the arts, the culture, the wine and food traditions, the style, but Italy is not only this, the Italy of 2009 has got a lot of economical, political and social problems: It has the financial crisis, but also first of it, the circumstances were not very beautiful: For example there is the Mafia, especially in Southern Italy that is the cancer of our society. There also is the Vatican which, because of its continual political interferences, makes Italy not a really lay democracy, moreover, today, there is a very big conflict of interests, and so a weak democracy; in fact our prime minister Silvio Berlusconi owns (directly or indirectly) the 90% of the Italian mass-media ( even if Law doesn't allow to own a bigger part than the 20%) , so in Italy there isn't a completely free press and information in general. Berlusconi has been indicted for corruption too, but he has always managed to save himself thank many "ad personam" laws that are unconstitutional and that their lawyers ( who are also members of Parlament!) have maken for him... So, today we have got a criminal exempt to the Law, indicted for corruption, who has had contacts with mafia and who is more interested in his personal matters than in the Italian ones as Prime Minister! ( and the other members of his party are not better than him)... Unluckly a true opposition doesn't exist, because during the last elections a lot of left-parties don't manage to be members of the Parlament... But Berlusconi ( called " affectionately" the psyco-gnome) Doesn't owns only the 90% of Italian mass-media, but also: an Italian bank, one of the most important publishing houses ( Mondadori) and three insurance companies! These are something of the most important problems in Italy today but there are many other too... --- See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=IT&hl=it&v=LhOJc1JBpKI http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=IT&hl=it&v=mTfgtYg1_3A&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=IT&hl=it&v=MW8iP38KiGc http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=IT&hl=it&v=_tlydL2UAlQ&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=IT&hl=it&v=JMbr_gKDWx8 Bye
