How can we go to Interlaken, Switzerland from Rome, Italy? By Air or by train?

    There are LOTS of tour operators who run bus tours directly from Florence. I studied abroad in Florence and I did one of these tours. (It was great. There were 75 people on the bus and they sold us bottles of wine.) I would google around and research tours from Florence. It takes 90 minutes to get from Rome to Florence on the Eurostar. Interlaken is FABULOUS. I stayed at the Funny Farm. It's a hostel, but there are private rooms, too. There's a really nice, relaxing lounge and bar, and the people there are so nice. Go canyon jumping in Interlaken -- it's like bungee jumping with a rope instead of a bungee (you free-fall, then swing out through a canyon like Tarzan). Interlaken is the one place in the world where this activity is offered. (Scariest thing I have EVER done.)

Well the easiest (and fastest) way of course by air, there are 4 flights daily from Rome-Fiumicino (aka Rome aeroporto da Vinci) to Zurich Airport, fare is from about 120 Euro's (Return - flight) with Swiss (www.swiss.ch). From Zurich Airport to Interlaken there are many trains daily, look at www.sbb.ch. Don't think about the train unless you are a hardcore traveller or you are anxiuos of flying. Italians train system is a pain, time (of departure and arrival) is relative, and there are frequently strikes of the staff. The same is for airitalia, don't think about flying with them at least untill they found a solution to rescue (or destroy) the company.
