i also can recommend sorrento- It should be closer in distance to capri (though not neccesarily faster- the cost probably about the same. If you go to Capri make sure you head early enough to the very top of the island Anacapri, there are some chairs that lift you to the top of the moutnain even higher for a view but their not open all day.

Yes, there are, but I suggest to take the train from Naples to Sorrento (a wonderful way and a very nice city), than, from here you have many boats going to Capri.
