here you can find the BEST CHOCOLATE EVER!!! it's called gianduia and made with cocoa and hazel-nuts! in the city center there are many bars and shops where you can find it... delicious! as far as the city... it's very nice, it was built by the Romans and so you cannot get lost easily (roman way to build streets is the same you used to build NYC streets...). good places to visit are: the cinema museum (very funny!) the egyptian museum the ancient royal palace

Turin's setting alone is breathtaking. numerous rivers flow through the city including the mighty Po river, it is surrounded by an alpine backdrop with world famous ski resorts and overlooked by a hill that is as beautiful as anything in Tuscany. The city, once the royal capital of Savoy, is still regal in appearance with wide piazzas, arcaded avenues and many magnificent palaces and royal residences. The cuisine of Turin is perhaps the best in Italy - a delightful combination of the best of France and Italy. Perhaps the original fusion cuisine! Chocolate from Turin is like no other - I cannot explain how good this chocolate is. Much more can be added - check out my blog on the city for more - http://www.my-italy-piedmont-marche-and-more.com/piedmont-photos.html
Turin is beautiful.. but I think there are better cities in Italy (Rome, Venice, Naples..)

My sister was born there as was my father who lived there most of his youth. I've also lived there for a short period and my family was once part of the royal family which is based in Torino. Hence why Torino is superb. In the old days the pathways which are all made of marble would be waxed for the public to walk on. The worlds leading designers and luxury good producers based themselves in Torino as it has an excellent shoppinh area near the main station and all around the piazzas which are totally sheltered. There is one of the world's best chocolate and gelato maker in that same shopping arcade.. Turin is well known for the "showd of Turin" The "Fiat" and the Paris to Turin road race which draws princes and playboys from europe who race in their $500,000 sports cars. Turin also has a benetton store on every corner as i remember it.. and the worlds second largest Egyptian musuem as well as countless interesting buildings and works of art.

yes, it's very cold. some parts of it are very advanced and mundane, some parts of it, over the decades, have become 'ghettos' to different ethnic groups that have settled there over time. A positive experience overall, and very nice people!

Centre city many tourist sites; outskirts- some opulent, some slums, much industry-home of the agnelli's FIAT car company. Beautiful countryside; just a hour's drive to Alps and skiing. Can be cold in winter with freezing fog for days as all cities on river Po. 2 football teams to choose from-Torino and Juventus

Turin is an industrial city but the surrounding areas are just wonderful to visit. The Valle di Aosta is a winter wonderland and also a great place to hike all summer long. Asti is close by and you know what that city is famous for. The GAM = Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Turin boasts one of the best collections of Modern Art in Italy. It may not be entirely true but it certainly is a hot attraction. Wiki: "The Museo Egizio is a museum in Turin, Italy, specialising in Egyptian archaelogy and anthropology. It is home to what is regarded as the ninth largest collection of Egyptian antiquities in the world". This is great place to visit and the kids will love it too.
