Which is the best city to visit Verona or Rome?

Rome is a much larger city with more to see and do. While Verona is definitely worth visiting, most people would visit Rome first. Rome has the Colosseum, forum, Palatine Hill and other historic attractions, the Vatican and it's museums, beautiful fountains, many spectacular churches, Villa Borghese, the graves of Keats and Shelly, and many interesting museums other than the Vatican. However, it can depend on your interests and how much time you have for the trip. If you're interested in using Verona as a base for exploring Venice, Padova, Mantova, Garda Lake, the waterfall park, Trento, Bolzano, etc. or only have a weekend for the trip, then Verona can be a good choice. Both places have very good food opportunities and feature their own specialties.

They are similar, but Rome is so bigger!

Another vote for Rome, I was there two years ago. There is the Colosseum,The Roman Forum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps. Not to mention Vatican City, with the Vatican Museum and the Sistine chapel. I don't know about the food in Verona, but in Rome it is to die for, A cafe' at the corner of Via del Ciaimontana and Via di San Giovanni, has the best cappuccino in Italy (in my opinion) and anywhere you you can you must get pizza and gelato (not at the same spot)

Hello, I've just come back from Italy. Verona has some "must see", but in Rome you can spent a life without finish to see everything. It's an amazing museum ( the city) in opened air. Enjoy your trip !

I'd say Rome. There's a lot to do when your vacationing there. You can make a wish at the Trevi Fountain, try different Italian foods. Maybe if your lucky, you can even hear Vivaldi! And lots more. I wish you luck on your vacation to Italy :o)

Rome is the best!!!!

Rome Rome Rome...went there in June with two of my friends and there is so much to see there's the colleseum which is spectacular (Id advise getting a guided tour it is more expensive but you get to avoid cues and things are explained to you that you wouldnt know without as there are no signs saying what certain things are also included in the tour of the colleseum is a tour of the forum also)...you can go to the Vatica (The worlds smallest country) while your there also I suggest you get a guided tour....You could go see the spanish steps (featured in the Lizzie maguire movie) which is beautiful! the metro is really easy to use and cost very little money ( €1 for a ticket that lasts an hour and ya can go to any part) there are some many nice shops also and loads of really nice resteraunts....the people of Rome are really nice and welcome so it would be a fantastic place for you to go....and most things are generally cheap about €25 for a 3 course meal! hope ya have a fantastic time where ever you chosse and remember eat lots of ice cream (gelati) oh and Pizza

Rome is the capital and there are a LOT OF monuments like Colosseo, Altare della patria, piazza di Spagna, fontana di Trevi ecc ecc.. Is a beautiful city and the people is friendly. The food in rome is soo good. Also Verona is a nice city. Is a medieval city and there is a Juliet's balcony ( Romeo and Juliet ) and a big amphitheater, like Colosseo.
