Other posters have already given good answers but, in Venice I highly recommend visiting the Doge's Palace and taking a water taxi down the length of the canal as soon as you arrive, you really get a feel for the place that way. As you'll be in the Pisa-Venice area I highly recommend making the trip to Florence. It's only an hour by train from Pisa and the fair is extremely cheap, there's so much to see there you'll be overwhelmed! Also, if you have time, Verona is not far from Venice and is a really beautiful place to visit. Enjoy your trip!
