How many days to spend in Venice?

  • I am leaving for a cruise from Venice. How many days before the cruise should I arrive to enjoy the city but not get bored?

    Some people are feed up after a few hours and some spend a life time exploring the city and the lagoon. Three to even 4 days is fine for an initial visit. You'll get acclimated and relax as you explore.

If you are flying to Venice from somewhere far away, give yourself one day just to get over the jet lag. You can just stroll around and sip a couple of espressos (watch the prices in touristy areas, though!). Then give yourself two full days to see things. This would not include a serious survey of the available art. If you want to do that, you need more time.
